EDMONTON, Alta Nov 24, 2009/ Wavefront Technology Solutions Inc.
(“Wavefront”), a world leader in providing innovative solutions for
increasing oil field production and enhancing the treatment of contaminated
groundwater, has successfully used Primawave in Australia for the first time
to inject chemical oxidant into a groundwater aquifer previously very
resistant to injection.
Primawave was used to inject more than 12,000 liters of fluid over 1.5 days
at a gas station operated by an Irving, Texas-based global oil producer.
Previous injection efforts at the site had only delivered approximately
2,000 liters over a similar time frame. In addition, monitoring points
showed the radius of the injectate’s influence with Primawave approaching
six meters in comparison to previous non-Primawave injection events which
did not show the presence of the injectate at any monitoring points on site.
The client deemed the overall results to be very successful and it is
anticipated that project planning for future site work will incorporate
Primawave technology into the basis of design.
“Wavefront is delighted with the success of this project in Australia in
conjunction with our licensed Primawave provider, Coffey Environments,” said
Wavefront President and CEO Brett Davidson. “More than 40 per cent of the
world’s developed land is contaminated to some degree. Although the demand
for site remediation continues to grow daily around the world, conventional
site remediation technology tends to be costly, lengthy and sometimes near
impossible under difficult circumstances. Site owners and regulators are
looking for advanced solutions to address these challenges and close the
existing technological gap. Primawave meets these demands and is also
cost-effective since it enhances existing site remediation technology
without the need to invest in expensive new systems.”
