DeepWaveSM Well Stimulation Performed
For A Major Oil Producer In California
EDMONTON, Alta December 16, 2005/ Wavefront Energy and Environmental Services
Inc., a provider and licensor of its proprietary DeepWaveSM (http://onthewavefront.com/dw_what-is-deep-wave.htm)
Technology for improved oil recovery and groundwater remediation is pleased to
announce that the first in a series of several planned DeepWaveSM
well stimulations was performed with a major production company outside of
Bakersfield, California. More specifically, the DeepWaveSM tool
co-developed with Halliburton was deployed on continuous coil tubing placing
40,000 gallons of acid over an 18-hour time frame. Wavefront personnel were
on-site providing technical guidance on process optimization.
There are over one million oil wells worldwide with the United States having
approximately 50% of this total. An equivalent number of gas wells, water
injection, and water disposal wells also exist globally. It is well established
that sometime in its history oil or gas wells, disposal wells, or water
injectors will undergo some form of well intervention. In many instances a well
will be subjected to several interventions in its active life, which DeepWaveSM
can positively affect. The vast number of stimulations performed on a yearly
basis represents a significant market opportunity for implementing DeepWaveSM as
the preferred method of fluid injection.
Wavefront President and CEO Brett Davidson stated, “The continued advancement of
DeepWaveSM is very gratifying. Numerous companies are in various
stages of evaluating the use of DeepWaveSM for single well
intervention as well as for permanent implementation on water injectors during
secondary recovery. As we continue to have successes in the field and publish
results we expect to see a greater demand on implementation and increased market
leverage”.
